Keep Hawaii Home is a political action committee established in 2026 to address the cost of living for local people.
We believe that change comes through the people we elect and the laws that they pass.
That's why we donate to candidates for elective office that are committed to advancing solutions, particularly regarding the cost of housing, that are both significant and evidence-based.

About us
A report found that “Hawaii is the third most expensive state" in the country. This has led to thousands of local people leaving. They just can’t afford to live here anymore.

For local people, it only feels like it’s getting worse.
Housing costs are a major part of the problem. A 2022 report found that Hawaii’s median home value was the highest in the nation. This is partially because of complicated laws and slow government. In other words, we’re making things harder for ourselves.
In fact, we were ranked the worst among all States in how hard we make it to build housing for local people. Until this changes, they’ll keep leaving.
That’s why we need to take matters into our own hands.
We support candidates who get it.
Keep Hawaii Home donates to candidates that:
1. Recognize that Hawaii's high cost of living is driven is large part by the cost of housing; and
2. Support evidence-based regulatory changes that allow the creation of more housing for local people.
